The “International Prize Lexenia Art and Justice”, which is inspired by the close relations of law with literature, music and visual arts, represents a cultural experience that puts togheter
candidates and jurors with different professional ages and backgrounds, on the international level united by a passion for law, professional training and art.
Lexenia comes from the Latin word Lex (legere or ligare), and word Xenia, from the Greek (ξενία, xenía). Lexenia is therefore a word that combines the two words who created western culture.
The mentioned prize contributes to the creation of a community in which the jurists meet the non jurists overcoming the division of knowledge and the fragmentation of culture.
For each Art there is a free section and an imposed section, both of them are open to all.
The imposed theme is a tribute to the book called “The Law and other Arts” which was a written by the professor Francesco Galgano. He is one of the greatest contemporary jurist. He is lawyer, university professor, magistrate, writer and painter and a wonderful example of a connection between legal culture and other cultures.
In order to clarify point on the contamination, jurists and non-jurists may participate in both the sections (the imposed and the free one).
The prestigious Jury has been chosen among lawyers, magistrates, university professors, notaries, musicians, writers, actors, directors and painters.
All of the juror referencies are reported below for full trasparence purpose.
Participants are allowed from all over the world with any citisen ship they are adults (+18)
Authors must also send a copy of the enrollment payment with the works indicating the section to wich they wish to register their work.
Authors must send the papers exclusively via email to the e-mail address premio@lexenia.it
Indicating in the subject of the email “Competition registration”, and attaching a file with the work and a copy of the payment receipt.
Attachment Method
Sections A-F: attachment via email in a single file, PDF-with body size 12 and character Times
New Roman . Word form (DOC, DOCX) are not accepted.
Sections G and H: Mp3 format, attached by email or jumbomail (if the file is too large, it is possible to use We tranfer. Don’t forget to specify your name, (it is possible to link the Mp3 to the registration email)
Sections I and L: photograph of the painting, drawing or sculpture, attached by email in a format jpg, png, bmp, gif. Specify in a text file (txt): the title, the technique or media, the size and the type of support.
Sections M and N: attached by email in format jpg, png, bmp, gif.
Email must contain: the first name and last name, address and phone number, email address, very short biographical notes (no more than a couple of lines) and the following formula: I accept all the rules of the announcement. I declare the authorship and originality of the works I sent and their content. I authorize the use of my personal data according to the article D.L.196/2003 and subsequent modifications, in compliance with the regulation GDPR of U.E. 679 /2016. (Lexenia will use your personal data exclusively for sending cultural informations and will never give them to third parties.)
Lexenia is not responsible for plagiarism or violations of the law.
The judgment of the jury is final and cannot be appealed.
By partecipating in the competition, the participant authorizes the organizers to publish and disseminate the only owner.
The author works must be unpublished at the date of invitation.
Published works are excluded. By publication it is intended to be published in a paper volume (personal book, catalogue, anthology etc.) equipped with ISBN code or in magazine (paper or digital) with ISSN code. The works appearing on personal websites, blogs, unregistred magazines and Social Networks are not intended to be published.
Sections G and H, the works appearing on personal sites and private blogs with limited access are to be intended as unpublished. Instead, the songs appeared on Social Networks are to be intended as published, and therefore excluded from the competition.
Works that have already won other competitions are also admitted.
We will not respond to requests regarding placements or critical comments on your submitted works.
Participation in the competition requires the tacit acceptance of all the rules of the competition.

Authors must also send a copy of the payment received togheter with the works, indicating the section in which they wish to register their works as indicated above. It is also possible to send only a photo of the payment received.
Prizes
The awards in the various sections consist of

For the first classified in each sections: interview with the author, publication and dissemination on the Lexenia site with a dedicated page and on the related social media, parchment.

For the second and the third classified of each section: publication and dissemination on the site Lexenia and on the related social media, parchment.

For all other participants: the certificate of participation or, upon indication of the jury, the diploma of merit.
Among the winners of the various sections, an absolute Winner of Art and Justice award 2019 will also be chosen, who will receive a free night in Venice for 4 people in a suite in Piazza San Marco or in Rialto, according to the availability of the structure and in a periode to be agreed (iber.bolignano@gmail.com)
The prize organization reserves the right to award special prizes and certificates to the must deserving works. The commission has the option to not give any prize, if the poems are not considered worthy.
The results will be published within three months of the expiry of the notice on the website www.lexenia.it and on the site concorsiletterari.it
Ranking lists will not be drawn up outside the top three winners in each section. The winners will also be notified by email or by telephone
Award ceremony:
Lexenia reserves the right to organize an awards ceremony, in the presence of finalists and jurors, in Bologna (BO) or in Montecatini Terme (PT), by the end of 2019.
All the winners will personally receive the prizes or by delegated person. Otherwise they will receive the prize by mail.
